Where's the LBWC? Right here ...

So I'm driving to church Sunday morning, passing the Kyrstal's on Opelika Road in Auburn, and I saw the greatest advertisement for beef that I've ever seen in my life.

OK, well second best. Here's the all-time greatest.

Krystal's did have a pretty good one though. It's a picture of a hamburger with the word DANGUS!

Tell me that's not awesome. You can't.

That was just one of many highlights from my weekend.

Here's the rest from the LBWC ... DANGUS!!!!!

5) Friday night. We be jammin'.
After work Friday night, I headed over to my buddy Todd's house for a little jam session. We both play in our church band. Well, Friday night, we got together, along with some other friends to play a little guitar. Good times were had by all.
Except for his neighbors, who I think we woke up like 57 times. Twice during our version of "Free" by Train.

And, no, I won't play Freebird.

4) Saturday afternoon. State Champs.
The Glenwood softball team beat Lee-Scott for the AISA AAA state softball championship. Read all about it here. And then look at some photos here.
It was the school's first fastpitch softball state title.
Congrats to the Gators. Well done, ladies.

Also, big-ups to the Lee-Scott softball team for making it that far. Warrior athletics have had a great year and it continued with softball.

3) Friday and Saturday. No rest for the weary.
While we're giving out congratulations, I want to give my boy David Morrison props for his coverage of the AISA state softball tourney this past weekend at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.
David covered something like 1,743 innings of softball in the heat both Friday and Saturday. He's even got the sunburn to prove it.
Young Morrison's been here for about three months and has done such a great job covering high school sports for our newspaper.

So when you see David at games around town, don't be afraid to tell him what a great job he's doing. He deserves it. And if you have suntan lotion. I'm sure he'd appreciate that, too.

2) Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Sweep them away.
The Auburn University baseball team was swept again this weekend. This time it was by the Ole Miss Rebels.

It's was the Tigers seventh consecutive loss in conference. Not good. The Tigers are 2 1/2 games out of eighth place, which is where they need to be to make the SEC Tournament, something they haven't done since 2003. Really not good.

First-year head coach John Pawlowski knew he had his work cut out for him when he took the job last June. Now, I'm sure he's figuring out just how much he's got to try and fix before next season.

Even though making the postseason is become more and more unlikely, the Tigers can still finish the season strong in the final two series of the season -- at Kentucky this coming weekend and then at home against Alabama in two weeks. Winning both of those series, probably won't put Auburn in the SEC Tournament, but it will go a long way to building some offseason momentum, which they desperately need.

1) Saturday morning. Victory!
Went back to Walmart on Saturday. (By the way, it's Walmart now, not Wal-Mart. You didn't think I'd notice the way it's spelled, did you? Well I did.)
Anyway, Little Tornado and I braved the waters and went back to the scene of last week's crime.

It wasn't the big, mamma-jamma shopping day like last week, but LT and I did have some crucial items to pick up.

I remembered where a lot of things were after the remodel, so I was prepared for the food section of the Opelika Walmart. We knocked out the milk, yogurt, cheese, taco mix and grapes like a NASCAR pit crew.

But we did run into a problem when we went looking for light bulbs.

After about 10 minutes of walking around the "home" section of Walmart (and trying to keep LT's entire body inside the cart), I finally found the light bulbs staring at me from the exact same spot where you could get all your fishing supplies (pre-remodel).

But I found them, and in less time than it too me to get Little Tornado into her car seat. Which was a win.

What? She's a slippery little bugger.
