Michelle Brown and Gary James Glazier II were united in marriage on April 4, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church in the Beauregard Community. Dr. Rusty J. Sowell presided over the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Marilyn and Richard Brown, Sr. of Beauregard. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hill of West Point, Georgia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Brown, Sr. of Smiths, Alabama. The groom is the son of Mrs. Valerie Wilson of Sacramento, California, and Mr. Gary James Glazier I of Surprise, Arizona. He is the grandson of Mrs. Joyce Zillich and the late Mr. John Zillich and Mrs. Judy Glazier and the late Mr. George Glazier.
Prior to the ceremony, Michelle Kuykendall provided piano music and Charles Kuykendall sang I Will Be There by Curtis-Chapman. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The bride, wearing a strapless, satin gown with a shirred, bodice top with a beaded/sequined, embroidered, lace yoke and cathedral train, entered the sanctuary to the traditional Bridal Chorus by Wagner. Beethoven's Ode to Joy was played by Michelle Kuykendall for the recessional. The guest book tablecloth was made by the wedding coordinator Angie Gallups from the mother of the bride's wedding dress. The bride also carried a handkerchief from the mother of the bride's wedding dress backed by a handkerchief which belonged to the grandmother of the Wedding Coordinator Angie Gallups.
Rachel Brown, sister-in-law of the bride, served as the bride's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sabrina Jung of New York, sister of the groom, and Laura Maxey and Emily Watson, both of Montgomery. Reese Watson served as the flower girl. Guests were greeted by the program attendants Catherine, Natalie, and Emily Jung of New York, nieces of the groom.
Groomsmen were Richard Brown, Jr., brother of the bride; and Ford Sypher and Adam Vickers of Fort Benning, Georgia. The groom's father, unable to attend due to illness, was the honorary best man.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Windmill Acres in Beauregard Community. Music was provided by John Gallups of Montgomery. Arrangements of calla lilies and hydrangeas decorated the hall.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple resides in the Beauregard Community. The bride is the Controller at Summit Housing Partners of Montgomery, and the groom is currently serving in the Armed Forces.
