WASHINGTON — An Auburn graduate serving as a Navy officer has described for a Washington jury how she worked as a call girl while also serving as a supply officer at the Naval Academy.
Lt. Cmdr. Rebecca C. Dickinson, 38, testified Thursday that she had sex for money while working for Deborah Palfrey’s escort service, Pamela Martin & Associates. She said she used the name “Renee” with the male clients.
Palfrey, who is being charged with racketeering, money laundering and using the mail for illegal purposes, has said she was unaware that her escorts were having sex for money. She says her business was a “high-end erotic fantasy service” that allowed men to engage in legal, “quasi-sexual” game-playing.
Dickinson enlisted in the Navy in 1986 and was commissioned as an officer in 1993 after graduating from Auburn University. She told the jury in U.S. District Court she ended her call girl days in April 2006 after six months because she didn’t like the work and she had other commitments.
“It was getting harder for me to do,” Dickinson said. “I had other responsibilities. I didn’t like it.”
Dickinson is currently on leave from the Navy
Testimony in the case will resume Monday.
