Teenager reports sexual assault

A 16-year-old girl was reported being sexually assaulted in mid-May, Auburn police Capt. Tom Stofer said.

The assailant was reported as a 36-year-old male family member, Stofer said.

The incident, which reportedly occurred at the victim’s residence, was reported Friday, he said. Both the man and the girl are Auburn residents.

Two cars reported stolen in Auburn

Two cars were reported stolen Thursday, according to Auburn police reports.

A man reported his 1996 silver Mitsubishi Gallant missing when he returned to his Lee Road 191 company parking lot at the end of the day, Auburn police Capt. Tom Stofer said. That car was taken between 2:30 and 4:45 p.m. Thursday, according to a police report.

Another vehicle, a white 2005 Kia Sedona, was taken sometime between 11 p.m. Thursday and 7:45 a.m. Friday from the business on Moores Mill Road, according to the report.

Stofer said the vehicle was used to make deliveries for the business.

“Right now, we have no way of knowing if the two are related,” Stofer said.

2007 rape reported Friday in Opelika

An alleged rape that occurred in an unknown location in Opelika last year was reported Friday. The report states the rape involved a 15-year-old victim and a 22-year-old suspect and occurred sometime between Nov. 7 and Nov. 15, 2007, according to Opelika police Capt. Allan Elkins.

No force was used during the alleged rape, said Elkins, who said it involved “consensual sex.”

Opelika gas station robbed Friday night

An Opelika gas station reported being robbed Friday night. The robbery occurred between 11:15 and 11:20 p.m. at Shell Station No. 83 in the 1400 block of Geneva Street, according to Opelika police Capt. Allan Elkins. A man entered the business acting as if he had a weapon, but no weapon was reported seen, Elkins said. The man took an undisclosed amount of money, Elkins said. The man was described as white, in his 20s, with a pierced lip, Elkins said. The man was reported wearing gray camouflage shorts and a white tank top, and reportedly left in a silver two-door Honda Civic, Elkins said.
