Alabama troopers target aggressive driving

»  Comments | Post a Comment

MONTGOMERY - Alabama state troopers are going to crack down on aggressive driving, particularly around big trucks.
Public Safety Director Christopher Murphy says the new traffic initiative will target high-traffic corridors with lots of crashes.
He says aggressive driving involves a combination of two or more offenses: unsafe lane changes, tailgating or following too closely, failing to yield the right of way, and speeding.
To help with the crackdown, the Department of Public Safety has added 11 Dodge Charger interceptor patrol cars to its fleet. Murphy says the cars allow troopers to apprehend speeders and other violators quickly.
