The 45-day pre-election report turned in on July 7 by Opelika mayoral candidate and incumbent Gary Fuller for the Aug. 26 election reflected a beginning balance of more than $15,000, based on campaign funds he received since late November.
Opponent Rainer Meadows’ 45-day report filed on July 7 shows a zero beginning balance. Rainer said he began raising funds for his campaign around the first of March.
According to an annual report filed with the Lee County Probate Judge’s Office on Jan. 7 by Fuller began with a $1,580.55 beginning balance.
Fuller’s annual report lists $16,550 in itemized cash contributions for amounts greater than $100 and nonitemized cash contributions of $1,000 for a total of $17,550.
