Opelika police deserve thanks for handling accident admirably
On June 10, I was involved in a collision with another vehicle at the intersection of 10th Street and 2nd Avenue. While no one was seriously injured, several people stopped to assist. I am thankful to each of you that did.
I was especially impressed with the professional efficiency of the Opelika Police Department. After arriving on the scene, they made sure the intersection was cleared quickly and traffic was flowing smoothly. They went about gathering the information needed with respect and courtesy for all involved.
Also, they made arrangements for the vehicles to be towed and called EMS to have the occupants checked out. I am thankful to officer McBride, who remained with me until my car had been towed and I was picked up by another person.
With all the police bashing and disrespect shown to our law enforcement personal in news these days, I am glad that I live in Opelika, where we can be proud of those that “Serve and Protect.”
