The Lee County Red Cross is sponsoring a community celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Auburn-Opelika Robert G. Pitts Airport to mark Armed Forces Day.
Admission is free and there will be food vendors, inflatables, helicopter rides (provided for a fee) and some local planes and military vehicles on display.
Military members and retirees who show identification will be treated to a free lunch provided by Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Opelika.
