No way senator could have shown leadership after DUI
I recently read in the Opelika-Auburn News’ “Another View” column a commentary from the Dothan Eagle titled, “Senator could have shown leadership after DUI arrest.”
It is difficult to comprehend how the Eagle or the News has the audacity to waste printed space in their newspapers to even suggest that state Sen. Zeb Little could have exercised any form of “leadership” relative to his commonly practiced personal behavior in drinking and driving (based upon my alleged recall of Little’s behavioral history). There are other elected officials in Montgomery of similar personal behavioral patterns, yet DUI is a well-known violation of law and endangerment of human life on our highways by all adult citizens of our state.
Little has proven only one point, and deserves absolutely no latitude in what he could or should have done.
He does not deserve to be elected as a state senator, much less further appointed as the state senate majority leader.
This reflects adversely on the entire integrity and ethics of the voters and party members of the state senate that have positioned him in a leadership role of Alabama state government.
We, as citizens of Alabama, are way overdue for a reality check in electing our governing leadership, especially when behavior like Little’s is made public ... wake up Alabama!
One may conclude that the entire state has some growing up and responsible behavior to develop and exercise ... or does it really matter to most folks?

Columnist proves Yellow Dog Democrats can be fooled too
Our local “opinionater and reminiscer” Bob Sanders proved in his column of May 23 that some people can be fooled all of the time, particularly a Yellow Dog Democrat.
