Letter: Obama accomplished very little to have been awarded Prize

Obama accomplished very little to have been awarded Prize
In receiving the Noble Peace Prize, President Barack Obama represents the classical illustration of the Christian gospel of grace.

It comes as a surprised gift to an undeserved, unmerited person who does not bear any good accomplishment in deeds for the award.

However, he has accomplished his greatest political honor in life which is the election of president of the United States.

Only 43 men (I hope to see a woman elected by 2020) have reached the presidential prize since the founding of the nation.

Evidently, the International Noble Peace Committee saw some positive endeavors that President Obama has aimed in speeches and diplomacy for world peace and nuclear disarmament.

The words “ridiculous,” ”absurd,” “inappropriate,” “undermining,” “too soon,” “unfair,” and “bias” from the loyal opponents which they have attached to Obama’s award may fit an unlikely character, but anytime a U.S. citizen wins recognition on the world stage of whatever committed task or service should be jubilant and hopeful to all of us.

In our society, a person’s accomplishment is estimated by the mental ability acquired, the physical activity performed, and the visible results observed from the specific work.

While President Obama has not met such criteria, I sense a distasteful flavor of envy and jealousy from people who can’t believe he is the president and the Commander-in-Chief of the free world. Obama was filled with joy, and spoke with humility for the privilege of a great honor.

Since time will tell the worthy of the prize given to Obama, I say that the award is all of grace alone.

People should be outraged over result of rape trial

In the recent case of the deadlocked jury, wasn’t there a rape kit done on that poor woman that was allegedly raped?

Wouldn’t that have cleared the matter up to some degree? Was she reportedly injured during the alleged rape, in any area of her body, and was there DNA of the alleged attacker found?

It was stated it was consensual sex.

Who in their right mind would believe that a 90-year-old woman in a wheelchair would consent to such a lewd act?

On the other hand, what 43-year-old man would want to have sex, much less rape a 90-year-old woman?

This woman deserved better. I’m glad that she is speaking now, and not later, like me. People should be outraged.

At least the ones that have had a mother.
