I’m tired of CNN Headline News. I want headlines, not opinions of them.
I’m tired of Fox News. I want to know what’s happening, not a one-sided view of events in Washington.
I’m tired of MSNBC. I want news, not views.
I’m tired of Bill O’Reilly. I’m tired of Sean Hannity. I’m tired of Nancy Grace (Why does she always appear to be angry?) I’m tired of Jane Velez-Mitchell and her issues. I’m tired of Glenn Beck and spastic animations. I’m tired of Joe Scarborough, and I’m dad-gum tired of Keith Olbermann, who was much easier to watch when he was a sportscaster back in the good old days before ESPN assumed control of the sports world.
To sum: I don’t want a talking head on television to give me his or her opinion about the day’s events. I want to know what the day’s events are, then think for myself. These days, cable news networks in the evening have drifted away from simple reporting into the dark territory of attempting to make the viewers agree with their points of view.
Straight news is often reported during the day. But once the sun sets …
Headline News was once CNN’s arm of strictly news reporting, allowing the mothership (CNN) to serve as Time Warner’s 24-hour news talk show. Both are now opinion-based at night.
Tonight I’ll tune into more objective news reporting. I might just watch The Weather Channel. Guys, don’t start debating about red lines and blue lines on those weather maps.
