Three-vehicle accident on Shug Jordan sends two to EAMC

Two people were sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a three-vehicle accident occurred on Shug Jordan Parkway.
According to Auburn police Capt. Tom Stofer, a vehicle was stopped in a northbound lane, waiting to turn left into the Northpointe subdivision. Another vehicle, traveling north, veered left into oncoming traffic to avoid rear-ending the stopped vehicle, but was hit by two vehicles heading south on Shug Jordan.
The southbound lanes were momentarily closed when EMS transported two patients to East Alabama Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, but traffic was routed around it, Stofer said. Another patient was treated on the scene.
No names were released as of late Tuesday afternoon.
