Wanted: Build Day volunteers

Members of the board of directors for Rebuilding Together Lee County aren’t afraid to wield a paint brush or hammer, or ask for help.

Community Action Project helps neighbors in need

For the past three weekends, volunteers have been doing various home repairs for those who need it around the county. The March 6 project drew more than 800 volunteers to complete work at 34 houses and one church, said Wanda McCurdy, an associate with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and coordinator of the Community Action Project. She also said a group in Tuskegee and one in Columbus, Ga., volunteered that day, but remained in their own communities.
