Found AU basketball player case closed, no new details released

The case of the Auburn University basketball player found hours after she was reported missing Tuesday has been closed and no new information will be released, according to an Auburn police release.

Friends of AU freshman guard Sierra “CeCe” Sims of Brentwood, Tenn., reported her missing after she did not show up for class Tuesday.

Auburn police Assistant Chief Tommy Dawson reported Tuesday night that Sims was found unharmed and was with her parents.

No criminal activity was associated with Sims’ disappearance and the case has been closed, according to an Auburn police statement released Wednesday morning.

“Out of respect for Miss. Sims and her family no other details of this incident will be released,” the release states.
