The Lee County Water Festival was held Thursday at the Haley Center on the Auburn University Campus.
Fourth grade students from all three schools systems in Lee County took part in interactive, hands-on educational learning experiences to learn the role of surface and groundwater in the water cycle, the importance of plants, trees, wildlife, soil and water, the effect of human actions on water and that all individuals need to act environmentally responsible.
More fourth grade students will take part in the festival on Friday.
The festival ends at about 2 p.m.
