Auburn police responded to a motorcycle wreck on Interstate 85 Thursday evening.

A motorcyclist from Texas was traveling northbound when a car merging onto the interstate came into his lane, and he veered into the median, Auburn police Lt. Tyrone Guice said.

“His motorcycle continued to cross the interstate and hit an uninvolved vehicle that was broken down on the side of the road,” Guice said.

The man suffered scratches but no life-threatening injuries, Guice said. The motorcyclist was transported to East Alabama Medical Center by ambulance.

After it was determined he did not need to be taken by helicopter, traffic flowed freely along the interstate, Guice said.
