Opelika man injured after being struck by vehicle on U.S. Highway 280
A 52-year-old Opelika man was injured when he was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lane of U.S. Highway 280 between Waverly Parkway and Grand National Parkway Sunday night.
The man stepped in front of a moving vehicle and was struck at approximately 8:04 p.m., according to Opelika police Capt. Allan Elkins.
The man was transported to East Alabama Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, Elkins said.
No charges are expected to be filed in the incident, Elkins said.
