Charles Micah Ledbetter, 26, of Auburn turned himself in at the Opelika Police Department at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday on warrants charging him with attempted murder, assault second degree and burglary first degree.
The charges against Ledbetter stem from a burglary and assault that occurred Monday night at the Ski Lodge Apartments in the 3500 block of Birmingham Highway, according to Opelika Police Capt. Allan Elkins.
Elkins said the victims in Monday’s stabbings were Ledbetter’s 27-year-old wife and a 24-year-old man, who encountered Ledbetter as they entered the woman’s apartment.
The woman was stabbed approximately 15 to 20 times and sustained a punctured lung, according to Elkins.
Her male acquaintance was stabbed in the shoulder, Elkins said. The woman was transported to the East Alabama Medical Center for treatment.
Ledbetter will be transported to the Lee County Detention Center later this afternoon, according to Elkins.
