ATLANTA — Alabama’s ousted Ten Commandments judge, Roy Moore, will be making appearances in Georgia this weekend.
He’s scheduled to speak at the annual joint Freedom Celebration at First Baptist Church in Newnan and Flat Creek Baptist Church in Fayetteville on Saturday and Sunday.
Moore told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the theme of the speeches would be ``Our American Birthright,‘’ which would focus on the loss of morality.
Moore now heads the Foundation for Moral Law in Montgomery. He gained a national following in 2003 when he was removed as Alabama’s chief justice after refusing to obey a federal court order to move his Ten Commandments monument from the state courthouse rotunda. Moore ran for governor in 2006 but lost in a Republican primary.
