Barack Obama didn’t exactly have the completely adoring audience he’s used to at a rally in St. Petersburg, Fla., today.

The Uhuru Movement is well known to people in the Tampa Bay area. I don’t usually link to anything on DailyKos, but there is some useful background about the Uhuru Movement that sheds light on the nature of the protests today on this page. (You’ll have to overlook the author’s serial misuse of apostrophes; the event was at Gibbs High School, not the inexplicably possessive ‘Gibb’s.‘) For a first-hand perspective, read down into comments; there is at least one there from someone who was in attendance at the event.

But again, the McCain folks can’t help themselves: Instead of finishing off the hilarity with one last blow, they turn somber on us.
