In case you missed it in Saturday’s print edition of the Opelika-Auburn News, my most recent column is now available online. Check it out:

What we can learn from Gates-gate

These are my thoughts about the brew—er, the brouhaha surrounding the arrest of that black Harvard professor by the white Cambridge, Mass., police officer and the fury that President Obama ignited when he commented on it.

I know you’re probably sick of hearing about this issue. I am, too. But I think there are important lessons that we can all learn from this incident; in the column, I reflect on them.

What do you think? Was Gates-gate much ado about nothing? What, if anything, does it say about race relations in America? For that matter, what does it say about law enforcement—and our cultural attitude about it?

Your thoughts are welcome.
