The Opelika-Auburn News reports some great news tomorrow on prescription drug prices in the area:

Soon Opelika residents will be able to acquire a card that can save them an average of 20 percent on prescription medication not covered by insurance.

The free cards, which will be available on Aug. 29, are sponsored through the National League of Cities and can be used by all residents of Opelika.

There are no restrictions to acquire the card including age, income level or existing health coverage ...

The cards can be used at pharmacies throughout Opelika as well as more than 59,000 participating pharmacies across the U.S.

Auburn residents will join the program on Oct. 1.

For more information, including where to pick up one of the money-saving cards, check out Brittany Whitley’s story in the News.
