Five-star running back Michael Dyer of Little Rock, Ark., rated by ESPN/Scouts, Inc., as the No. 1 high school running back in the nation, announced his commitment to sign with Auburn for the 2010 season Friday, according to several Auburn recruiting sites.

AuburnSports.com, AuburnUndercover.com and AUTigers.com all reported the senior had announced his intentions at a press conference at his high school.

Dyer had his pick of offers, but chose Auburn over Tennessee and Arkansas. He told AuburnSports.com he would speak with the Tiger coaching staff about whether he should still visit the other schools.

Dyer, 5-foot-8, 200 pounds, has 7,566 rushing yards and 74 touchdowns in his high school career.

He is the Tigers’ 20th commitment for the 2010 class and the first running back.
