Over its 10 years of existence, Auburn High’s Joe King Memorial Invitational has made a name for itself as a tournament that consistently draws top-flight talent from around the state and Georgia.
Three area players and one coach will suit up for the South boys and girls teams in the North-South All-Star basketball game in Huntsville this summer, the AHSAA announced Thursday.
Auburn High’s boys and girls soccer teams notched shutouts against Stanhope Elmore in sectional play at Duck Samford Stadium on Thursday, with the girls winning, 7-0, and the boys taking a 5-0 win.

Four area baseball and two area softball teams are among the top 10 in the state in their respective classes, according to the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s first poll of 2010, released today.
TALLASSEE — In the first game, Tallassee used the long ball. In the second game, the Tigers used dominant pitching. That all resulted in Tallassee’s doubleheader sweep of Alabama Christian on Tuesday night.
