Auburn native and former Troy University star DeMarcus Ware was named a first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press on Friday.

The fourth-year Dallas Cowboys linebacker had 20 sacks this season, just 2½ short of Michael Strahan’s single-season sack record.

Ware received 45 votes for the first team, seven more than Pittsburgh’s James Harrison, who edged him out earlier this week for AP Defensive Player of the Year.
