Super Sunday, Super Tuesday, blah blah Monday

Yesterday was Super Sunday. Tomorrow is Super Tuesday. What does that make today? Mondays are never super. Rainy days and Mondays ...

Anyway, I haven’t seen this much interest in a primary in years. These races are really tough to call. Just like the Super Bowl. I mean, everybody knew the Giants would win, right? Who wins Alabama may not be celebrating because they may not make a dent nationally. In the Democratic race, I’ll take Hillary Clinton—but barely. I sure wouldn’t bet on it either way. In the Republican primary, I think it’s a tossup between John McCain and Mike Huckabee in Alabama, and McCain and Mitt Romney nationally.

One thing tomorrow could do is give us a clear picture who the Democratic and Republican nominees for president will be. But if candidates split states, we could wake up Wednesday morning in a logjam. It would be interesting if the races are tight heading into the summer primaries. Alabama used to have a June primary. In a year when Alabama moved its primary to what is widely perceived as a more important February, keeping it in June could have been better this time should either one of the races go down to the wire. I’m thinking the races will clear up soon.
