Peyton Manning in the house

You probably saw him on television talking to the CBS sideline reporter, but in case you didn’t, former Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning is in the house. I suppose the Colts are off this week.

Manning never played at Jordan-Hare Stadium and his only appearance against Auburn was in the 1997 SEC Championship Game.

Vols’ circle broken

OK, Tennessee’s midfield circle has broken. Evidently, it was just a team meeting. After that, the Vols’ players walked to the south end zone, circled the goal post and walked the other way. What was disappointing were select AU fans shouting at the players for no other reason than to ridicule. That’s disrespectful. But that’s just the way some people are these days.

Vols circle the wagons at midfield

We’re almost two hours to kickoff and Tennessee players have formed a circle around the Auburn logo at midfield. Not sure what this is supposed to mean. Looks like they’re having a prayer service or something. Anyway, nobody seems to be making a big deal of it as nothing disrespectful has happened.

Still, it’s worth watching.

Rogers comments on bailout

Got this message from Congressman Mike Rogers’ folks up in D.C. regarding the Wall Street bailout:

“I agree that Congress needs to act, but will not support a proposal that Congress has not yet debated in detail. Whatever action is taken, Congress must first protect the taxpayers and ensure this legislation is in the best interests of hard working people on Main Street, not just Wall Street.”
