Check this out from The Associated Press:
Michigan season-ticket holders are getting a price break for the 2009 football season.
Athletic director Bill Martin told The Associated Press on Thursday a season-ticket holder will pay $50 on average for a ticket after paying $53.57 last year.
``In this challenging time economically, this is our way of thanking our fans who have supported us for decades,‘’ Martin said. ``Unlike most schools, we had an opportunity to lower prices for football tickets.‘’
Ohio State and Michigan State both announced earlier this month they were slightly increasing ticket prices for 2009.
This makes me wonder ... would Auburn or Alabama consider lowering ticket prices during our sour economic situation? I wouldn’t think so as long as fans keep buying them at the normal rates. Still, it’s a point to ponder.

Read this story I found on cnn.com and count how many times Bristol Palin says “like.“
It’s like, a thousand times.

After watching Sunday’s Daytona 500, I’m glad to say I wasn’t there. It rained and the finish was about as exciting as ... well ... nothing. To have the finish of what is regarded as NASCAR’s prize event be dictated by Mother Nature and called with the leader, Matt Kenseth, sitting still in his car is awful. But hey, rules are rules. NASCAR did what it had to do. Like I said, I’m glad I wasn’t there to see the race without a finish.
So who’s to blame? We can start with the weather, but that’s too obvious. I blame the later starting time—3:30 EST. For years, the 500 went green at noon. Now, TV continues to push that time back so the finish can be in prime time. Thanks guys. If the race had begun at noon, it would have been over with at 3:30 ... all of it.
With a tight economy, NASCAR is happy to have multi-million dollar TV contracts and honors desires for later starting times when asked. That’s just the breaks.

Oops. Maybe I should read labels more often. My can of energy drink says it’s intended for “periods of ... increased physical exertion.“ Uh-oh. I’m sitting at my desk and can’t stop bouncing around. Perhaps I should have had this before a jog or something like that.

Is this a performance-enhancing drug? Somebody get me a valium.

I was prescribed the cholesterol-fighting drug Zocor, a statin, earlier today in an effort to combat my partially-clogged arteries. Sounds fine. I’ll do what it takes to lower my cholesterol.
But in the last couple of hours, I’ve read stories about weight gain, hair loss and short-term memory loss with association with the pharmaceutical. That does not mean every person who uses the drug has these issues, but it is alarming to me.
So now I have a decision to make. Do I risk these symptoms or diet properly and try and lower my cholesterol naturally? Not sure what to do.
