Auburn got the shaft

Let me get this straight ... Charles Barkley claims Auburn’s hire of Gene Chizik instead of Turner Gill was racially-motivated. Chizik is white. Gill is black.

Hmm ...

Auburn interviewed Gill for the job, right? And it also interviewed Rodney Garner, who is black, didn’t it?

Hmm ...

Clemson hired a new football coach didn’t it? He’s white. Did the Tigers interview minorities for the job?

Tennessee hired a new football coach, didn’t it? He’s white. Did the Vols interview minorities for the job?

Hmm ...

Syracuse hired a new football coach, didn’t it? Yeah, and the ‘Cuse is right down the road from Buffalo, Gill’s stomping grounds. Gill was interviewed, but not hired.

Hmm ...

Clemson’s hire had nothing to do with race. Tennessee’s hire had nothing to do with race. Syracuse’s hire had nothing to do with race.

But Auburn’s did.

Obviously.
