Are statins the best solution?

I was prescribed the cholesterol-fighting drug Zocor, a statin, earlier today in an effort to combat my partially-clogged arteries. Sounds fine. I’ll do what it takes to lower my cholesterol.

But in the last couple of hours, I’ve read stories about weight gain, hair loss and short-term memory loss with association with the pharmaceutical. That does not mean every person who uses the drug has these issues, but it is alarming to me.

So now I have a decision to make. Do I risk these symptoms or diet properly and try and lower my cholesterol naturally? Not sure what to do.
