Legislator arrested in two-year scandal

It was reported this morning that State Representative Sue Schmitz (D-Toney) was arrested Thursday morning in connection with Alabama’s two-year college scandal. She was charged with taking money for work she never did, four counts of mail fraud and four counts of fraud. Like the Dire Straits song goes ... “Money for nothing.“ Alabama taxpayers have apparently funded more things than they ever imagined. Schmitz was released on $25,000 bond.

The Legislature convenes Tuesday in Montgomery.

Ironically, Schmitz is co-sponsor of an ethics bill regarding no-bid contracts.

Matthew, Joe is an equal opportunity slammer.  On several occasions he has made us well aware of his negative feelings on Republicians as well.  Get out your glasses and read the paper again and see that the OA News and Joe are very neutral.

Yawn….we can always count on Joe’s blogs to slam Democrats. Usually followed by one where he kisses Mike Hubbard’s rear-end. And ya’ll wonder why we think the OA News is bought and paid for…go figure.
