Sessions headstrong all along

Did you really think Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) was going to vote for Sonya Sotomayor? I didn’t believe there was any chance he’d support the Supreme Court nominee, so I’m not sure why there was any drama to it. Perhaps the drama could be found in Sessions’ determination to woo others against Sotomayor.

I suppose Sotomayor is very qualified to be on the Supreme Court and would bring diversity to its chambers. Nothing wrong with that. But Sessions has every right to vote against her. Cross-checking nominees is part of the process, and Sessions does have legitimate concerns. We’ll see how this all pans out.
