Clark, Armstrong

Valory Nicole Clark and Kyle Stephen Armstrong were married in a double-ring ceremony June 20, 2009 at 6:00 p.m at the home of Bobby and Shirlene Parker, grandparents of the bride. 

The bride is the daughter of Greg and Teresia Clark of Opelika. She is the granddaughter of Bobby and Shirlene Parker and Billy and Barbara Clark of Opelika.

The groom is the son of Tony and Sheri Armstrong of Opelika.  He is the grandson of Dewey and Maynelle Watkins and Jimmie and the late Joseph Armstrong of Opelika.

Dr. Rusty Sowell performed the ceremony. The program of nuptial music was presented by April Farr as she sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Surely The Presence of the Lord is in This Place,“ accompanied by Harpist Melaney Jones.

The bride was given in marriage by her father Greg Clark.  The matron of honor was Stephanie McDonald and the bridesmaids were Jordan Grigsby, Hannah Parker, Brianne Brown, Laurel Jones, and Kallen Flournoy. Junior bridesmaids were Nikki Parker Golden and Brett Parker. Father of the Groom Tony Armstrong served as best man. The groomsmen were Kevin Armstrong, Jud Delong, Parker Moore, Austin Smith and Robert Melvin. Ushers were Chris Goree, Brian Weatherley and Herb Rabren. Ansli McDonald was the flower girl and Brody Parker was the ring-bearer.

Following the wedding, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the couples honor at the home of Bobby and Shirlene Parker.  Assisting in serving at the reception were Beth Sherwood, Laura Lea Gilmer, Lacey Howard, Brandi Banks, Mallory Ogle and Ali McDonald.

Following the rehearsal, Tony and Sheri Armstrong entertained the couple with a buffet-style Barbecue. On March 29, 2009 a Hamburger luncheon honoring the couple was given by the women of Pierce Chapel Church. April 18, 2009 a Bridal Tea was given by Jo White, Carol Woodham Ann White and Pam Heartsill at the home of Ms. Jo White. May 9th, 2009 a Lawn and Garden Party was given by Bobby Ray and Gina Parker, Teddy Parker, Renee Parker, Tim and Joanna Parker, Scott and Stephanie Cooper, Brian and Dawn Weatherley and Jimmy and Pam Goree at the home of Bobby Ray and Gina Parker.

A bachelorette trip to Panama City Fla., May 22-24, was given by Stephanie McDonald and Joy Edwards. A Lingerie shower was given June 5, 2009 at the home of George and Regena Spence, hosted by Stephanie McDonald, Laurel Jones and Regena Spence. A Bridesmaid Luncheon was given June 12, 2009, at the home of Bobby Ray and Gina Parker hosted by Renee Parker, Gina Parker, Stephanie Cooper, Joanna Parker and Diana Sherwood.

After a wedding trip to Cancun Mexico the couple will reside in Opelika, Ala.
