Oh No - Too Much Dough!

At $1 a piece, I just couldn’t resist buying a freezer case of 20 pizza dough balls from our local big box store on Frederick Road. I didn’t give it a second thought until I got home and realized that 20 pizza dough balls pretty much fills up the freezer!  Forget about ice cream and fish sticks - at our house it’s pizza dough or nothing!  And so began a challenge to find creative ways to use up the pizza dough. I shared 5 of them with a neighbor. The rest have been making their way into fat, delicious meals. Did you know one pizza dough ball can yield three French baguettes? Divide the dough into three even balls, pull to form the baguette and bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. It’s a great accompaniment to any meal. We often buy a baguette for a $1 to $1.99 so spending 33 cents for one fresh from the oven is a big plus!

We’ve come up with several other fun, collaborative ways to use our dough. It’s been such a success that I will probably buy another box of 20 when this one runs out. Coming soon, more uses for pizza dough!
