The March 6 project drew more than 800 volunteers to complete work at 34 houses and one church, said Wanda McCurdy, an associate with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and coordinator of the Community Action Project. She also said a group in Tuskegee and one in Columbus, Ga., volunteered that day, but remained in their own communities.
