The Lee County Health Department administered about 600 H1N1 flu shots on Wednesday at the county’s first H1N1 clinic.

“Everything rolled smoothly,” said Lisa Jones, Lee County Health Department clinic coordinator.

On Wednesday, the vaccine, in injectable form, was reserved for high-risk groups including pregnant women, children 6 months through 4 years old, parents, caregivers and siblings of children less than 6 months old, children and adolescents 5 through 18 years old with underlying medical conditions and health care workers.

She said there will be another clinic soon, but a date has not been set.

There is no word if the same criteria will be used as guidelines to give out the next round of vaccines.

“That’ll be determined by the powers above me,” Jones said.

The public can find clinic dates, times and locations at http://www.adph.org. Information is also available by calling the health department’s toll-free hotline at 877-377-7285 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
