Alleged attempted rape reported in Opelika

An alleged attempted rape of a 64-year-old Opelika woman was reported Tuesday, according to Opelika police Capt. Allan Elkins.

The report states the attempted rape occurred at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 1800 block of Bull Durham Street, according to Elkins.

Police have a 40-year-old Opelika man as a suspect in connection with alleged attempted rape, Elkins said. No other details about the incident were provided by Elkins.
