A 19-year-old area man was reportedly the victim of an armed robbery late Tuesday night, according to an Auburn police report.
The man was in his car on the side of Shelton Mill Road when an unknown man approached him and demanded money, Auburn police Lt. Steve Woods said.
The victim was robbed of $165 sometime between 11:30 p.m. and midnight, according to the police report.
“A weapon was used to strike him (the victim),” Woods said.
Woods would not say what kind of weapon was used because the case is still under investigation.
The 19-year-old was taken to East Alabama Medical Center, treated and released for minor injuries, Woods said.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Auburn police at 501-3100.

Once again, there is no mention of the Lee County Crime Stoppers program nor is their # listed.  With this valuable program available in our area, why would it not be used and mentioned on every crime where there is not an immediate suspect?  A program that pays $ anonymously for tips leading to an arrest?  This has got to get more result than a regular police hotline.
