Matrix Wire in Auburn is currently looking to increase its work force to help meet the demands for increased production.
The custom-wire fabrication business recently acquired a new customer and “that’s got us working 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Mike Diers, vice president of the Auburn Matrix plant.
The company would like to hire between 20 and 25 new employees as soon as possible and create a weekend shift, Diers said.
Matrix is seeking to fill a number of positions including engineers, production manager, lead production operators, production operators, production supervisors and maintenance technicians.
Diers said the company currently employs about 200 people. The facility on McMillian Street in Auburn has expanded three times since locating to the Plains in 1985, he said. Matrix also has a plant in Mexico.
Matrix’s news was the fourth such announcement from an Auburn business in June:
- Seohan Auto USA Corporation and Seohan-NTN Driveshaft USA Corporation will add about 75 employees in the next two years.
- Cumberland Plastic Systems LLC will add 51 new employees in the next two years.
- Donaldson Company Inc. will hire 25 new employees in the coming year.
