Auburn police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two individuals wanted for questioning in connection with the theft of three wrist watches stolen at approximately 12:45 p.m. from a downtown jewelry store Saturday.
According to a police report, the merchandise has an estimated value of more than $25,000.
The first person is described as a black man, approximately 40 years of age,
6 feet tall, weighing 250 pounds, according to police. He was wearing a navy long sleeve shirt, jeans, a ball cap and glasses. The second person is described as a black woman, approximately 40 years of age, 5-feet-8 inches tall and wearing a denim button up shirt, plaid undershirt and jeans. The pair may be driving a white sedan similar to a Nissan Altima.
Auburn police have asked that the jewelry store and the brand of the wrist watches not be named due to the ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Auburn Police Division at 334-501-3140 or the anonymous tip line at 334-501-7337. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the persons involved or the recovery of the watches.

How could ya’ll miss the body language with those two people when they walked in the store, that they were only there to steal.  The owners of this store need to get new employees who can spot people who are taking a sunday afternoon stroll as opposed to coming in and buying anything.

BTW, your condescending tone was not lost on me.  It comes across that since a healthy debate about this is not something you feel comfortable with,  therefore insulting me is what you’re left with.  I’m sorry to see this, as I was hopeful that it’d be different.  In your two post to me, it appears that you only partially read my posts and your own political views then came into play.  Wealth does not offend me, but greed and selfishness does.  If you’d like to debate that in a healthy way, I’m game.  These two people stealing other’s property is based in greed and therefore offends me as it does anyone else.  Hoarding and give me more does as well.  Sin is sin.  I’m a sinner, and we’re all sinners.

Nope, no judgment here.  Just think that some have priority issues and yes, that is a waste of money.  I’m not saying they’re bad people, I think they need to realign their priorities.  You bring up Christ, I have yet to see an $8000 watch associated with Him.  Now I think you’d agree, He was neither a socialist nor did He have messed up priorities.  It appears you may be judgmental with your response.  If aligning myself with the teachings of Christ makes me a socialist, then that’d be a first to me.  I read the article, I commented on the crime although it appears you dismissed that, and I also commented on the greed, yes, I said it, greed.  Gotta have, gotta have, never satisfied, that is greed.  $8000 watches symbolize greed, gotta have, gotta get the best, ask your religious leader if you need clarification.  Why are people never satisfied?  Why do they need more and ‘better?‘  Why do we call ourselves Christians when we walk past the Salvation Army to the Jewelry Store to buy an $8000 watch that runs no better and tells no better time then a Timex and so many are starving?  Socialist?  I’ve never thought of the Bible as a socialist material.  I’m just saying . . .

OK,  let’s see.  I’m trying to keep you FOCUSED.  In seems your initial response was getting way off tangent with regards to your response. My only issue with YOU is that you ASSUME anyone who might by a Rolex (or similar) watch doesn’t do go Christian things in their life.  You made no reference to any such assumption.  As such, I called you out on it.  Further, and STILL, it’s not YOUR responsibility to pre-judge someone.  Don’t you think that’s above you?  Your comments might be interpreted, by some, as rather socialistic (ie, if you’ve got that kind of money, you better disperse it around).  Let’s leave that up to the individual, himself (or herself). It’s not YOUR call.

Who cares?!  I do.  I care.  It’s not our money anyway, it’s God’s money.  And He is watching what you do with it.  So please, re-read, if you read it fully at all, my post.  Those charitable organizations are much more deserving then Rolex or Omega will ever be.  So the ‘more power to them’ would be the gift that keeps on giving.  The Ultimate Power.  Folks need to be putting their priorities straight, because ‘there but for the grace of God go I.‘  Anyone of us or maybe even some of us right now reading this, will need or does need a service that provides us that kind of support.

And again, oakford, please re-read or fully read for the first time, my comment: that being said I hope they catch those two, because they need to face the consequences.

To the earlier comment about a person who would spend that kind of money on a watch:  Who cares?!  More power to anyone who has the means to do what they wish.  Let’s focus on the ‘life’s loser(s)‘ who stole this merchandise and put them away.

Holy cow, who has that kind of money to buy a watch for approximately $8000.  Good night, somebody has that kind of money to waste then they have their priorities messed up, especially when so many of our neighbors are in foreclosure and out of work.  That money could certainly feed a lot of families fallen on hard times.  That money would be better to be given to the Food Bank, Salvation Army, Hospice, Toys for Tots. . . . and the list goes on and on.  That said, I hope that they catch these two.  This behavior is unacceptable and they need to face the consequences.

This looks very much like Ware Jewelers in downtown AU.
