Former Auburn walk-on charged in sexual assault

SANTA ANA, Calif. — Two Santa Ana College football players — one of them a former Auburn walk-on – and a friend have been charged with raping and assaulting an 18-year-old woman while she lay unconscious in an Orange County hotel room.
Sophomore wide receiver Luster Lewis, 20, and freshman running back Michael Clemmons, 19, were arrested after someone found a 19-minute video the players made of the assault, the Orange County district attorney’s office said.
John Paul Foster II, 22, is also accused of helping the players repeatedly rape the victim in July after she passed out at a party at a hotel in Tustin.
The Orange County Register reported that the defendants are scheduled for a pretrial hearing on March 6 and a preliminary hearing on March 17.
They are charged with six felony sexual assault counts, including rape of an unconscious person, the Register reported.
If convicted on all counts, each defendant faces a maximum sentence of 18 years in prison.
Lewis and Clemmons are free on $100,000 bail, but Foster remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail, the Register reported.
Lewis was a walk-on wide receiver at Auburn in 2006, Kirk Sampson, the Auburn sports information director, said. He did not play in any games, Sampson said.
Lewis was a member of the team through spring practice in 2007, Sampson said.
