The Auburn Police Division has released the name of an Auburn man involved in a 90-minute stand off with police on Friday night.
Bryan Russell McGlynn, 27, is currently at East Alabama Medical Center, according to police. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the stand off.
“Right now he has not been formally charged, but we do expect that to come next week,” APD Assistant Chief Tommy Dawson said.
Officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of Carter Street, off of East University Drive, in reference to a domestic disturbance Friday night, police said.
Responding officers were met at the door by an elderly woman, but McGlynn interfered with the exchange by wielding two firearms at the police
officers.
After about 90 minutes, McGlynn laid down his weapons and surrendered to authorities, Dawson said. The suspect was taken to the APD for questioning.
Parts of Carter Street and Old Mill Road were closed for about two hours Friday night because of the incident.
