Investigators in Lanett are hopeful that the offering of an $80,000 reward will create a “break” in the homicide investigation of local businessman Larry Hudson.

Hudson, 60, was found dead in his business, the Huguley Machine Shop, on July 14. Family, friends and business associates of Hudson gathered outside the Lanett business, 2524 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Tuesday morning to announce that $75,000 had been collected as a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for Hudson’s death.

Alabama Gov. Bob Riley offered a $5,000 reward on Friday.
