Man arrested in connection with weekend shootings

Auburn police arrested Brandon Morgan, 23, of Auburn, and charged him with second-degree assault in connection with a weekend shooting that sent two men to the hospital.

Auburn police responded to an apartment complex in the 900 block of Old Mill Road at 1 a.m. Saturday. There, they found a 46-year-old Opelika man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported by ambulance to East Alabama Medical Center.

Soon after, a 26-year-old Auburn man arrived at the emergency room. He was also suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
