National Merit scholars named at Auburn High School

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced a second round of National Merit Scholarship winners today with three Auburn High School seniors among them.
John Shi, Amanda T. Smith and Jennifer Yeh will all receive a $2,500 one-time scholarship payment.
Approximately 1,100 recipients of corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards were named on April 16.
On May 28 and July 14, around 4,600 college-sponsored Merit Scholarship winners will be announced.
At the conclusion of the competition, around 8,200 scholars will win one of the awards.
The three Auburn High School students were selected from a talent pool of 15,000 finalists in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship Program.
