Opelika police are investigating a report of a man posing as an officer who attempted to pull over a female motorist on Pepperell Parkway Monday afternoon.

The report states a woman was driving near 24th Street between 2:15 and 2:23 p.m. when a man driving a gray and white 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe with a blue light attempted to pull her over, Opelika police Capt. Allan Elkins said.

The victim provided enough information for investigating officers to identify and make contact with the driver of the Tahoe, Elkins said.

No arrest has been made, and the case remains under investigation, Elkins said. Impersonating a peace officer is a felony.
