Opelika police investigate shooting

Opelika police responded to a shooting at or near the VFW Club on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Opelika Sunday night. As of 8:55 p.m., Opelika police Capt. Allan Elkins said the only information he could confirm was that one person had been shot and that police were on the scene. He said no further information was available at that time.
