Auburn Police Division
- Shoplifting was reported Wednesday at Sears on Opelika Road after someone took a Bluetooth headset at 1:18 p.m. An arrest was made.
- Burglary of a residence and larceny were reported Wednesday at Bedell Village Apartments on Lunsford Drive after someone took clothing, shoes, a cell phone and two purses sometime between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.
- Burglary of a residence and larceny were reported Wednesday on South College Street after someone took an antique picture sometime between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m.
- Burglary of an auto and theft were reported Wednesday at Auburn Trail on South College Street after someone took an iPod and sunglasses sometime between 1 and 8 a.m.
- Burglary of an auto and theft were reported Wednesday at Auburn Crossing on Shug Jordan Parkway after someone took an iPod and a GPS navigation system and did $250 worth of damage to a passenger window sometime between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
- Theft from a public building was reported Wednesday at Belk on Opelika Road after someone took $750 in cash sometime between 8 a.m. May 6 and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
- Burglary of an auto and theft were reported Wednesday at Ridgewood Village on Webster Road after someone took a purse, a driver’s license, a credit card, a checkbook and an insurance card and did $200 worth of damage to a passenger window sometime between 3 and 11 a.m.
- Burglary of a nonresidence and larceny were reported Wednesday at Victory World Prayer Center Church on Shelton Mill Road after someone took a leaf blower and did $50 worth of damage to a door sometime between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.
- Burglary of an auto and theft were reported Wednesday at Roof Gardens Apartments on West Longleaf Drive after someone took an iPod and did $200 worth of damage to a passenger window sometime between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.
- Burglary of an auto and theft were reported Wednesday at The Homes at Eagles Landing South on West Longleaf Drive after someone took a Garmin GPS navigation system and did $250 worth of damage to a passenger window sometime between midnight and 8 a.m.
- Illegal possession or use of a credit card and theft of lost property were reported Wednesday at Bar 51 on South College Street after someone took a driver’s license, a credit card, a wallet and a checkbook sometime between midnight June 6 and 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Lee County Sheriff’s Office
- Burglary and theft of property at a residence on the 60 block of Lee Road 2023, Opelika, were reported June 11 after someone took a 46-inch plasma TV, a DVD player, a 20-inch flat screen TV, a 18-inch flat screen TV and 100 assorted digital video disks with a total value of $3,500 sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. June 11.
- Burglary and theft of property at a residence on the 2500 block of Alabama Highway 80, Opelika, were reported June 11 after someone took a shotgun, a rifle, two scopes and pistol with a total value of $665 sometime between 4:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. June 11.
- Theft of property at a boat ramp on Lee Road 379 was reported June 11 after someone did $450 in damage to a tool box and took a router, a Roto ZIP, two tool kits, a drill and a bag of miscellaneous flooring tools with a total value of $1,291 sometime between 4 and 9 p.m. June 11.
- Theft of property at a boat ramp on Lee Road 379 was reported June 11 after someone took a two-burner stove, two folding chairs and two pairs of work gloves with a total value of $210 sometime between 6:15 and 9:30 p.m. June 11.
Opelika Police Department
- Joseph Fred Duke, 49, of Opelika was arrested around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for theft of property in the first degree.
- Burglary was reported Wednesday at a residence in the 1000 block of Samford Court after someone entered a dwelling between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Nothing was reported taken.
- Fraudulent use of a credit card was reported after someone used the victim’s credit card at Joe’s Grocery on West Point Parkway sometime between Monday and Wednesday.
- Theft of property was reported Wednesday at a residence in the 1000 block of Frederick Avenue after someone took a brown 1988 Chevrolet C1500 pickup sometime between 3:30 p.m. on May 26 and 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.
- Theft of property was reported Wednesday at H & W Motors in the 600 block of Columbus Parkway after someone took the catalytic convertor from a 1997 Chevrolet pickup, a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina and a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass sometime between noon Saturday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.
- Theft of property was reported Wednesday at H & W Motors in the 600 block of Columbus Parkway after someone took a catalytic convertor from a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am.
- Burglary and theft of property were reported Wednesday at a residence in the 1400 block of South Long Street after someone took a Sony PlayStation 2, an Xbox system, seven Xbox games, a Toshiba laptop and two sets of military BDU’s.
- Criminal possession of a forged instrument was reported Wednesday at Books-A-Million on TigerTown Parkway after someone presented a counterfeit $100 bill for payment of merchandise at 7:12 p.m. Wednesday.
- Fraudulent use of a credit card was reported Wednesday after someone used the victim’s credit card to purchase $3,392.82 in merchandise from an Internet Web site at 1 p.m. on May 22.
- Burglary was reported Thursday at Kindred’s Kash and Karry in the 1300 block of Monroe Avenue after someone entered the store around 2:50 a.m. Thursday. Nothing was reported taken.
