Vaccines at Lee clinic today

Doses of H1N1 influenza vaccine will be available free to high-risk individuals today at the Lee County Health Department.
Lee County’s H1N1 vaccination clinic is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. The Lee County Health
Department is off of U.S. Highway 280 at 1801 Corporate Drive, Opelika.
The vaccine, in injectable form, will be reserved for high-risk groups including pregnant women, children 6 months through 4 years old, parents, caregivers and siblings of children less than 6 months old, children and adolescents 5 through 18 years old with underlying medical conditions and health care workers.
“We should be able to supply the vaccine to those individuals through today,” said Lisa D. Jones, vaccination clinic coordinator. “There is not a charge for the vaccine.”
Jones said no seasonal flu vaccine would be available today, only H1N1.
The Alabama Department of Public Health news release states that statewide the health department has 55,000 doses available at this time.
