Editorial: Children deserve to hear president, regardless of party

“No matter what you want to do with your life I guarantee that you’ll need an education to do it. You want to be a doctor, or a teacher, or a police officer? You want to be a nurse or an architect, a lawyer or a member of our military? You’re going to need a good education for every single one of those careers. You can’t drop out of school and just drop into a good job. You’ve got to work for it and train for it and learn for it.”
He said what?
“You’ll need the knowledge and problem-solving skills you learn in science and math to cure diseases like cancer and AIDS, and to develop new energy technologies and protect our environment.”
Junior, cover your ears!
“You’ll need the insights and critical thinking skills you gain in history and social studies to fight poverty and homelessness, crime and discrimination, and make our nation more fair and more free. You’ll need the creativity and ingenuity you develop in all your classes to build new companies that will create new jobs and boost our economy.”
Who does this man think he is?
“We need every single one of you to develop your talents, skills and intellect so you can help solve our most difficult problems. If you don’t do that, if you quit on school you’re not just quitting on yourself, you’re quitting on your country.”
That’s what President Obama told schoolchildren in a televised address Tuesday morning.
How dare the president of the United States stand before the schoolchildren of America, at least the ones who were allowed to watch Tuesday morning’s address, and encourage our youth to reach for their dreams and preach the importance of getting a good education. It’s brainwashing. It’s nonsense, many said.
Get over it.
We live in a polarized era of this great nation where even the thought of the president speaking to children sparks outrage among the masses, particularly the masses who did not vote for Barack Obama last November. Call it brainwashing if you will. Call it encouraging the youth into seeing things his way if you want.
But really, we have much greater issues to debate than Tuesday’s school address.
Future generations will watch as Republican and Democratic presidents address schoolchildren, and they should. The president is the figurehead of our nation and should have the respect of all regardless of party.
It’s time the people of our nation stop slamming everything a president does because of his political party and stop turning this nation into the Divided States of America.

Respect has to be earned. Obama changed his so called curriculum he was going to discuss with the children. It is the parents’ right to raise their children. If parents did not want their children to listen to Obama then they should have been given the option to have their children removed from the room while Obama was speaking. Obama and his cronies have fought to keep prayer out of school and have fought to take parts out of the pledge and allow kids to choose whether or not they even want to say the pledge and yet we don’t have the right to keep our children from being spoken to by a traitorous president. BULL!!!! America is free and will only remain that way if the American people stay awake and keep their government in check.
Everybody is entitled to their opinion and so we can all think and say what we believe and I commend people for speaking out, no matter their words, FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS VERY IMPORTANT. However, just because most of us disagree with Obama and the liberals does not mean that we are racists. There are many black men, women, and young people in this country who are conservative and disagree with Obama and liberals. Are they racists too? I would think not.
It stands to reason that if I do not want my kids to hear a message from a president, then that is my business and not yours. My kids are not caused a great social disservice by not hearing a president, any president, black or white, tell them to stay in school. I think I am quite capable of getting that message across myself.
There again, perhaps more parents should get off their butts and be more involved in what their kids are learning and doing and we will not have some of the issues children in public schoos face today.
It is bad that after all these years RACISM IS STILL BREWING IN THIS COUNTRY.I hear of this soldier that does not want to go to Iraq, because Obama is not HER PRESIDENT.People call him anything except what he is.This tone is making the saying truthful. That all politicians are crooks.I have always heard that if you were honest you would not make a good politician. If Bush can tell kids to be good americans and fight and DIE for your country, that is okay. The republicans in congress is a party of NO. THE NO IS,“NO BLACK MAN IS GOING TO TELL ME HOW TO RUN THIS COUNTRY.“If that is the case, from the black prospective we think a country that still does not see us as equals should fight it own political wars.If the soldier is a republican, well all soldiers fighting should be as such.If terrorist are after ONLY THE WHITE AMERICANS-WELL WE AS BLACKS DO NOT FEAR TERRORIST,and we don’t because they have not attacked us.If you noticed all blacks have been released from hostage situations. All of this racism holds back a great country. But with all of the baby boomers still living, racism will still be alive. I am taken by the number of organizations that are against this country. The united states have more hate groups that are fighting to bring down this country. We have let people from European communist countries freedom in this country, and now they put their atheist ideas to the majority rule.NAACP-black group that fights for the unity of all races of people in america.Only one black group! It does not try to destroy this country. It tries to build relationships so we as AMERICANS CAN LIVE TOGETHER.It is a sore eye when you can go into this country’s history and see how it has treated its people.THE CIVIL WAR,CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENTS,ASSASSINATIONS OF PRESIDENTS,PUBLIC LEADERS,LYNCHINGS,MAFIA,JIM CROW,SEGREGATION,VOTING RIGHTS,ECONOMIC SLAVERY,IMPERIALISM,COLONIZATIONS,OF COUNTRIES.Then we send people to other countries to give up their culture so they can “LIVE AND WORSHIP LIKE AMERICANS.“WE as black american gave up our heritage to become equal in a country that still cannot see that when you elect a mixed race citizen to become President of the free world.THEN IT REALLY SHOWS HOW GREAT WE AS A COUNTRY COULD BE.But we lose it the eyes of those countries like Iran,N.Korea,China-they still do as they please and do not care what AMERICA THINKS…..AND THEY SHOULD!!
“The president is the figurehead of our nation and should have the respect of all regardless of party.“
If he was a Constitutionally eligible president, you might have a point. He’s not, so you don’t. He’s a treasonous fraud, and should be treated as such.
